Anima Jhagroe-Ruissen is a Kathak dancer committed to deepen, develop and show Kathak in the Netherlands. Anima explores shifts in how Indian dance can be reimagined and performed in new ways. This is particularly interesting as Indian art in Europe tends to be reshaped by discourses on traditionalism, diasporic practices and modern art innovations. The question of fluid identities is at the heart of this moving performance, which will be followed by a conversation with the artist.
